Matika Pillow Cover - Mustard

Description

This pillow cover brings a bold, graphic warmth to a sofa or reading chair. From the Matika collection — "matika" meaning "mud" in Nyanja, one of the native languages of Zambia — its mustard and white geometric design is inspired by African mudcloth patterns and made using a traditional resist-painting process.

The fabric is painted by hand with a maize paste, dried in the sun, then hand-painted again and baked to set the color. Once the dried paste is scraped away, it leaves a beautiful crackled pattern beneath — a technique that ensures no two pieces look exactly alike.

Made from 100% GMO-free cotton sourced in Africa, with a solid mustard back and envelope closure.
