Description
Hand-carved in Kisii, Kenya by local soapstone artisans preserving a generations-old craft tradition.
A single piece of soapstone, shaped entirely by hand into a wide, open bowl by artisans in Kisii, Kenya. After carving, the surface is polished, dyed, and decorated with a geometric mud cloth pattern — the centuries-old West African textile tradition whose symbols carry stories of heritage and identity. The natural variations in the stone mean every bowl is subtly its own.
Beautiful on its own or paired with the other pieces in the mud cloth series as a centerpiece on a coffee table, sideboard, or counter.
Details Hand-carved soapstone. Decorated with a traditional mud cloth pattern. Made by artisans in Kisii, Kenya. Approximately 12" in diameter. For decorative use only — not food safe.
