Description

A tray does something quiet and important — it gathers. A candle, an incense holder, a small ceramic vessel. Solid wood with a dark, matte finish that reveals the grain rather than hiding it. The deep bowl and low rim hold objects without enclosing them. Two handles with circular cutouts sit opposite each other — considered in form, comfortable in hand, easy to carry from room to room as the ritual moves through the day.

In keeping with Wabi Sabi principles, this tray does not pretend to be perfect. Natural characteristics — knots, burls, uneven tone, the occasional crack — are part of what solid wood is. Over time it will develop further signs of use, deepening in character rather than diminishing. Objects that gather stories are the ones worth keeping.
