Hand-spun and handwoven in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from Ethiopian cotton by a fair trade textile workshop.

The Zenach pillow cover carries a traditional Ethiopian motif, the kind of pattern seen on cloth worn for special occasions. The cotton is spun by hand and dyed in small batches before it's woven, giving each cover a soft, characterful texture. It's made to pair with the Zenach throw in the same colors.

Every step of its making supports the people behind it. The artisans earn above a living wage and receive annual health care stipends and ongoing training, and some spinners work from home so they can care for their families. The workshop runs on biogas and solar energy with net-zero emissions, treats its wastewater, and was the first facility in Africa to earn OEKO-TEX STeP Level 3 certification for sustainable textile production.

Details 100% Ethiopian cotton, hand-spun, small-batch dyed, and handwoven. Traditional Ethiopian motif. Fully lined for durability, with an invisible zipper closure. Made by a fair trade enterprise in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Sold without a pillow insert.

Care Remove the insert and wash the cover gently in cold water, then line dry to protect the hand-spun fibers. Avoid bleach.
